I am using manual lenses on my SonY A7R, such as Voigtlander 35 1.2, canon 50 0.5, etc

On my 6D I had a 580EX, for the Sony I'd like a 2 flash system (wireless) .. does TTL work with manual lenses or should I buy manual set flashes ?

Any advise on flashes and wireless triggers for Sony A7R ?

Carlos

TTL tech can work perfectly OK with Manual Focus lenses.

The A7R uses Sony's 'near ISO' hot-shoe. Not compatible with the Canon version of Odin /Mitros.

Include Phottix Odins/Mitros in your searches - So popular that the new Sony version may be sold out. Sticking with ETTL would force you to choose between systems - so many would suggest opting for an M flash off-cam system. Hope you get a reply from a Sony / Yn 560 Tx or Sony / Cactus V6 user.

Hi, I just meant a Manual triggers / Speedlites network (not ETTL). Setups based on Yn 560 Tx or the Cactus V6 are what I had in mind - but I use Canon - so you'd need reliable info from a Sony shooter(s) using those setups. They would work across Sony / Canon but ETTL setups would be only brand specific.

Gotcha

To be honest I don't know if I need ettl, i rarely use flash, but sometimes comes in hand, don't even know the benefits of ettl:)

But I want to play with a 2-3 wireless flash setup on my A7R
