I wanted to post this image even though I didn't take it. My wife did on her iphone. It is my four year old granddaughter. She started with coloring her toe nails and then worked her way up. She looks very remorseful.

Here's a mock-up of something I want to print out to hang next to each other as something frameless - either on gatorboard or as gallery wraps. I put this together to make sure I had them cropped to about equal proportions. The wife agrees with the concept, so I'm going to re-shoot at f/4 and see if I like the DOF better. I think I'll use a tripod to keep the pair more consistent, too. Then I'll do some editing and try them as B&W versus color. Thoughts?

QUOTED IMAGE

Looks good, my only comment would be to make sure you match the WB/skin tones in both as in your example the one on the right is a lot warmer (unless they don't have similar tones, if so just ignore me)

Yeah, you wouldn't know they came from the same parents. One is fair-skinned and the other is olive-skinned. I'm glad you mention it, that's another reason to lean toward B&W.

In that case I think colour is still a good option for you as people who see it who know them will know that's their skin tones and wouldn't even think twice about it. I was just commenting on the (wrong) assumption that the WB was slightly off. B&W would also look pretty cool though

Yesterday I got to test my new (for me) Sigma 70-200 HSM II.
All wide open, to check the sharpness (or lack of, as for some reviews).
