Does anyone have a feel for how this lens might be for star/astro photography?

It's got pretty strong coma on FF but otherwise I'd expect it to be decent.

Thanks for the find. Disheartening as it might be. :(

I can relate. I was rather let down on this one from Nikon. I really liked using the 28mm on an old Nikon FM for street intersections. It wasn't quite wide enough and I felt a 20mm would have been better suited. But after seeing the reviews for sharpness and coma, I decided against this one and went with the 14-24 so I could cover 14, 20, and 24 in a single lens that I could use around tight street intersections.

Yeah...I just don't want to spend 2K on a lens that won't accept filters. I guess I'll try the Rokinon/Samyang 14 2.8 manual focus lens.

I was just reading about the 20 1.8 on DxO Mark....they rate it pretty high as far as sharpness goes. I might take a shot with this one. *ponders

Does anyone know if Adobe has updated LightRoom for this lens yet?

EDIT: according to this video Matt mentions and shows LR lens corrections. AND at 2.8 coma is gone.

I put an offer in at GreenToe for one. If it isn't accepted I'll go for the Samyang 24 1.4.

According to Adobe (https://helpx.adobe.com …List_of_supported_lenses) (external link), the 20 1.8G is supported in LR 5.7.

Well, I just ordered this lens. It should be here tomorrow. If it doesn't meet expectations as far as star photography is concerned, back it will go. $800 is a lot to spend for a single purpose lens. *sigh
