Wedding photographers,

Would you pull a couple from your online or print samples if you know they are no longer together? Why or why not?

Sure would. One or two shots ain't gonna hurt and are easy to replace (chances are they already have been due to their age anyway). Besides you never know if half the couple is going to hire you to shoot their next wedding.

Yep, if they asked me to remove them, I would immediately.

If they asked, yes, if they didn't ask, probably not.

Depends.. If they had any issue, I would remove it in a heart beat. In print,if I had it in an album no. I would not use it at a bridal show.

They haven't asked; I just figured it out through social media. If they asked I likely would have pulled them without even thinking about it.

Unfortunately, I have a number of these. I don't remove unless asked to. I ALMOST got my first repeat customer. The groom was from a previous wedding. But at the last minute, the bride decided it would be too weird. Man, I was so bummed, that would have been such a great story to tell hahaha.

I've got a repeat client in May :)

I am figuring this won't be the last time I run into this. I photographed this couple in June 2014 for a bridal session, of sorts. They had been married 7 years and didn't like their photos and were taking time to get some nice shots so they donned the white dress and tux and we had a great session. They are a good looking people so they fit nicely into the portfolio.

Ironically, they were one of my "steamiest" couples from last summer.

About 5% of the weddings I've shot the marriages have not made it to 18 months (of those I know about).

I shot a wedding back in 2007. The couple got divorced and in 2013 I shot the groom's second wedding. The bride told me that the groom liked my photos enough to hire me again. :)

depends on how powerful the image was. Bottom line is they are my images and i make those decisions not the clients.

Powerful is pretty relative. :) My portfolio isn't as extensive as many of you. I have pulled their photo from my landing page but will likely keep using pics elsewhere. I appreciate all the responses!

I've pulled a few and I left a few. If they ask, it would be a nice thing to do. If they dont' ask and it's a really good shot then just leave it there.
