HongDong RC-300

Just got this gadget. My Canon 70 manual says that I can use it to shoot movies if the camera drive is set to 2 sec delay. It doesn't work for me. Works well on stills.
Any suggestions???

If the RC-300 is like the the Canon RC-6, You also need to have the remote set to 2 sec.

Do you have a link for the remote you bought?

It does. Both need the 2 sec delay setting on the camera, but both shot only single still. The Canon manual claims that it should also work for movies, can't get it to do that. It came without a manual. I can't find a manual on the net either.

Make sure the camera is in video mode.

While the camera is in video mode, the "S" selection on the remote triggers the shutter, and the "2", "S2", or "2S" selection on the remote triggers the video start/stop.

Are you saying the S2 button is triggering the shutter?

There may be some compatibility issue with the 3rd party remote so I would try the opposite selections to see if that might work.
