The picture of the bear giving me the stare is the one that gets the most comments from my friends, but these 2 (and a ton more) are at the same time. She was keeping a close eye on her 2 cubs by standing guard at the base of the tree.

I am a fortunate photographer to live where I do.
The pelicans were yesterday morning.

And the bear was yesterday evening, within walking distance of our house.

I am the kind of wildlife photographer that forgot to turn off camera when putting in backpack upside down, accidentally changing modes to from AI servo to AI focus and missed focus on an adorable coyote puppie.

I bet we all have stories to tell about how we accidentally forgot the ISO was set for a dark setting when we shot in bright light, or how we must have rotated to dial from Manual to Aperture without realizing it. Of course, I have ever done any of those things myself......:-P

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

What kind of photographer am I?

when I try to capture a scene like this, mostly I am an inadequate one. But I have a lot of fun!
This was this morning. A great day here, Balsam Root going wild, deer and elk in velvet, and antelope starting to have fawns.

We found 5 cheetahs early one morning just before sun-up. These 3 boys were sleeping in a pile together. And you thought I was done posting Africa photos!:-P

Gorgeous.
How can you not share those?
I don't think we thought we'd seen the last of your African beauties for one minute :-P
