Ummmmmm....Eeeep! :D

I'd reword that to "objects in mirror may be way too %&^87 close!" :)

3 Cape buffalo's from 3m in a ground level hide at night

Really neat shot; but a *concrete* hide, I hope? :) I'd want to know way more about their temperament and reactions in the field before I'd be happy that close to one with young...wow. All the info we hear in the States about Cape Buffalo are that they're pretty quick to trigger and fairly aggressive; similar to our Bison in the Nat'l Parks. But, I also have been comfortable working within the same distance from Moose, which are fairly notorious for that as well, but give PLENTY of warnings that I watch for (physical reactions, noise making, etc) to let you know early on whether you're bothering them or not.

I had a trip planned there for May 2021 but decided to switch to a Great Migration trip next August. Who the hell knows if that will even happen.

But I'm still going to Zimanga someday probably the trip after the Masai Mara. And BTW, screw you 2020.

Awesome.
I'd be wary of that huge bovine. Are they that placid?
I had a huge beast (steer) smash into the side of the car once when working on a farm. The beast was okay, car not so

Big old mule buck and a Moose blowing bubbles as she feeds. She had tiny twins hidden in the tall grass nearby and had recently been collared to help monitor the babies as they grew.

They are not placid, they are mean. They were just coming in to rut when we were there and the bulls were following females closely and grunting a lot. We saw several males fighting in the distance. A good handful of people get charged and gored each summer. Stupid people.

Yeah, 2020 has messed us all around I guess. I've missed some cool overseas trips this year but at least I have some great places nearby. I'm going to Zimanga again on Monday so look out for some new images soon.

True story: I was taking this, across the 2 lane hwy and using by car as a blind, when some chucklehead in flip flops came "flap, flap, flapping" his way down the near (to it) shoulder in order to take an ipad photo. >_< Luckily for all of us, this big beast cared more about the grass and didn't stomp the guy into a mud hole.
