Well that makes sense. . Guess it would be hard to find a little critter before the gulls find it. . But that makes me wonder ... how do the people that I follow on Instagram find all of those starfish and crabs that they post from the CA beaches? . There must be some secret beach that does not allow seagulls

.

Back in the 1980's when I lived in Monterrey, I used to see them in the tide pools. Maybe they are gone now. but there were several places with tide pools back then. They basically stretched from Monterrey to Pacific Grove. There is a website called California Tide Pools that has location information.

WOW.
Is that how it is Maureen? An all in brawl?
They'd make one heck of a splash and imagine noise with all that wallowing.
What an experience and very nicely documented

This is during mating season when several males follow a female and then fight for first place. Rarely did we see a show so violent and on the surface of the water. I have some others of another fight above the water I will post in a bit as I am heading out the door.
Charles, that boat was taken by surprise. They did not venture into that situation.

Terry, that appears to be a very alert pose, I'm guessing this photo session didn't last long until she put some distance between you.

Yes Steve. It was short and Sweet. Hope you are doing well and have a nice Thanksgiving. I will certainly be happy when this year is finally over. Take care now.ߘ
