Randy, Jeff, I appreciate your kind words, and Randy your memory is too good!
Pondrader if you want the big white one it can't be that far from Ontario to where they live=ROAD TRIP! HA!
So true that I was DYING to get an owl. It took 18 months then they started rolling in, truthfully though I had to fly to Florida to get my first-the burrowing owl and the same day in a swamp my first Barred and a Florida Bobcat. Then owls in Africa (4 species), then the little Austral Pygmy Owl in Patagonia.....so my hopes are high to add one in central America next month.
On bears we've just been blessed...70 polar bear sightings when we were there over 3 days. In Katmai so many seriously up close and personal encounters especially when 'hiking with the bears'. I've always taken black bears for granted until now that I want to image one! Kinda like the owls-if you want it too bad......
I could bait them. They did destroy 5 of my bee hives and where the cabin is they are plentiful but I'll just wait until it happens naturally.
But Mrs. Souza's work with the whales! I cannot even imagine.

Speaking of......this is the little guy...8 miles hiked and truly 1 in a million odds of finding one. He's only 5 inches tall, my favorite pic of the trip-

You get to go to so many places, and all cool ones too, that I admit, I am jealous! :) I grew up poor, stayed poor, and I plan on dying poor. heheh

As far as that Pygmy Owl goes, I would KILL for a shot like that! When I saw Peter's that he was showing last Fall, I was going to start stalking him when he went into the woods so I could get a shot too, so you may want to watch out, since you saw one too.. :)

Great shot of that little owl too, I love that, and I don't blame you at all for being so proud of that one.
That Bobcat shot is a good one too, I love them also. Who wouldn't? :)
You just keep on batting a thousand, and I'll keep watching!

Randy

Nice bobcat Medicine Man!
I've only had a couple opportunities with bobcats here in Florida.

^OH Now that is a Bobcat!!!
We were out doing Milky Way tonight and saw one run across the road. I'll probably never get to image one again but you never know.
Speaking of who I'd like to image with, well I might see/meet Peter at Moline in January but I'd also like to shadow Pondrader! The Bruin and Alces Tour!!!
Seriously there are so many posters at POTN I'd like to learn from----or have access to the animals they are near, but macro has taught me that wonders are under my feet in the backyard, for all that I've seen in person or through your lenses I thank God.

Maureen. very nice shot. I wish that I would have been able to take a shot like that. Kept putting off whale watching, even though I lived on the Left Coast in Washington.

I have been out to the San Juans off your coast & had some incredible Orca experiences. I bet we saw over 50 breaches right next to the boat from a variety of whales. Go!!!

Keep on trying. I have more whale breaching shots than I could ever hope to post. :) Here is one from Maui that I love because even though I don't have her head in it, it shows sheer power.

Here's a fun one from the Katmai Coast a few days ago. Mom was fishing while the cubs were rough housing.
