Yeah big animals in snow or mountains preferred but next up the she-ruler is scheming snakes, bugs, birds in the jungle.
I think after that one I get to go back up north.
Hope you get your rig back from Canon sooner rather than later :)

From this past weekends hike. I was doing a 'pondrader' and actually off trail hiking parallel to a mom and two cubs. Never got a good shot, got back to the trail and this
little momma was standing right in the middle. Later in the day we found a hickory tree and a bear bonanza. Amazing how high they can climb before they
get big and fat-

These are back before I was more competent with my camera, but these where taken off the Alaskan highway. I just got out of the car and snapped these. The mother and her cubs were very close, you can actually see a bit of the gravel from the road in the bottom left of the frame and I was standing in the road.

Yes, go! If you have a look at Blue Ocean Whale Watch on the internet, Kate has awesome photos & videos everyday out of Monterey Bay.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Respect the creature: always. If they're not happy that I'm there, then the camera stays in its case as I leave. Except for that one time when the tide left me stuck in the silt and a black bear decided to check me out. I figured that if I were about to be mauled, I might as well document it... plus, he crept closer to me.

What a wonderful image! The rock serves as a really unusual and interesting habitat element. Great eye contact/catchlight and a great pose. Love the fact that the claws are clearly visible.....that helps to keep my eyes moving throughout the frame.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Great shot and story to match!

Hey Jeff, (Pondrader) This is still a great thread, one of my favorites!

This is on of my all-time favorite wildlife photos. This was taken off the southern California coast a couple of years ago. Our boat was surrounded:
