Those are some great giraffe shots showing natural behaviour. The oxpeckers obviously didn’t appreciate the commotion.

Elephant close up in black and white. These are great animals to photograph due to their texture, trunk, tusks, ears and behaviour.

Love those giraffes, Jake!

While I have been going through pictures, I found some from Alaska taken 5 1/2 years ago that I had failed to open. When I finish them, I will post some. What a surprise I had forgotten all about!

While we were hiking at Eagle River in Alaska a few years ago, we got charged by this mama black bear. Luckily, another couple was walking right next to us and the 4 of us were able to make enough noise and appear threatening enough that she did stop her charge and go back up the hill to her babies. Talk about a scary situation! I was never anywhere that scared in Africa. But I still took pictures....:lol:

Another day in Alaska (same trip) we saw a big old grizzly hunker down for a nap. there was a river very close by full of salmon so our guess was he filled up and was ready to sleep some of it off. I wonder if anyone was actually staying in the cabin that he laid down next too.:eek::eek::eek:

Muskox.They have been surviving since the early Ice-age and now could only be found in regions of Greenland, Ellesmere Island, Norway and some parts of Siberia. I had this opportunity to be up-close to them and see through my own eyes. Sadly, there is no further north in this world that they can migrate to, hope the Arctic stays protected and we contribute our part to keep it safe.

I know this is OT but I am looking for thread where people are showing before and after after applying special effect edits.

I’ve searched until my head aches. Who can lead me in the right direction?

A strange place to post this question, but hey, it's all POTN!
I'm not sure what you mean by "special effects edits" here in the wildlife forum, but here's one on RAW conversion and one of more photo-manipulation;

Show Us Your RAW Conversions, BEFORE And AFTER

Show us your manipulated images - before and after

Both in the Post Processing and Printing Forum.

then there's this one in People'

Show me your Creative Edits

Thanks Jake. I’ll look around in those links.

Edit: No wonder I couldn’t find it. The RAW conversions: Before and After hasn’t had a post in six months.

Maybe I’ll bump it up with an image.
