Is there such a thing?

I currently have LR 4.4 and PS 5. I am just starting to get into this stuff so I do not want to invest a lot into a program until I know I will use it.

If you have a Mac, then you've already got iMovie. You can make time lapse videos pretty easily with that.

LRTimelapse has a trial version that should work for you. It has some limitations on the free version, but you can get a feel for the program without buying it.

Most editing software is available for 30 day trials.
I happen to like Vegas, but also work on Premiere, both of them have low-cost versions (Sony Vegas Movie Studio, Adobe Premiere Elements).

Try them out! See what works best for what you want to do.

Blender has a very good video editor:

Blender is open source and runs in Windows.
I tested quite a few video editors and I found Blender to be the most stable one and easy to use.

Are you trying to connect a laptop to a camera to do time lapse? It will probably be easier to use an intervalometer (<$20 on ebay).
