Took a late night trip to dtla with my son last night. Shot a couple pics. The starry night one was in the mountains on the way to LA. Quite noisy to begin with but you need high ISO to shoot stars. I think I saved the shot though. Tell me what you guys think.

The second one is way cool. The clouds give it a 3D look.

This is great and works well as a series. I like the scale you were able to capture, lots of vibrant color and motion even in the shots where nothing is moving. I think that they are all well done but I prefer 1 & 3

Excuse me, but I heard there would be cake?

I like #2 & #5 best.

In #2 I really like the sky! I kind of wish I could see more of the foreground though.

In #5 it is the colors, stars in sky, the traffic blur. Fun photo to look at.

Thanks for sharing!

diggn #3 the most. Even better if you could have gotten some trail lights from the tracks w/some train activity. i wish you could have pulled more city out as you did in #3 & #4 for #1. Great exposures for sure!

Thanks guys! I just wish I could have gotten more keepers. But 5 keepers isn't bad. As far as the star photo regarding the foreground, I couldn't have gotten more without absurd amounts of noise. It was pitch black out. But the silhouette works perfectly with the photo. Especially the tree. Thanks again.

Where was 3 taken from? I've been shooting DTLA at night a few times but have not seen or found the spot for that view before. If you don't mind sharing.

I like that one the best, btw. The train tracks give it added interest in the foreground with the skyline in the background.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.
