Yes, it is a Brase I open (5-string) and is my 5th Ken Lawrence. I have a never-ending case of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) so I ended up selling the others like an dummy, but I found this one right after I sold my Fodera. Horrible picture but I got hooked on Ken's basses in Bass Alone in San Diego and we did a display with Ken's basses. tj Hill on the right, Ken in the center and I am on the left. Ken's personal basses are the one on the bottom row with the inlay and the Chamberbass to the right of it.

I love DW drums and my kit is in the avatar. Per the Boss (She Who Must Be Obeyed!) I could have bought a Sonor kit but I liked mine better, and I used have a Sonor kit before it was stolen.

Baldwin baby grand. Five shots taken at different focal lengths with a Sony RX10M4 and stacked in Affinity Photo. Noble Beauty filter applied through Luminar.

Very nice guitars, Jason .... and great exposure, especially on the always tricky black & white of the first photo. Your axes ?

Thank you.

Yes, my guitars.

The black guitar is a 2018 Squier Affinity Strat with a Rockn R Guitar's loaded pickguard; Guitar Madness Premium Wound AlNiCo 5 pickups, CTS pots, Orange Drop caps and treble bleed, Copper shielding and 7-way Gilmour switching. The clean tones are wonderful; neck, neck & middle and middle settings are pure joy.

The Lake Placid Blue guitar is a stock 2021 Fender Player Strat. The AlNiCo 5 pickups on the Player have a more modern voice, and take distortion better than the Affinity.

Different tools for different results.

Regards,

jason

Very interesting .... thanks for the details. Detailed, hand-wiring like that is very uncommon these days !

A friend of my bro in law made this, says it actually plays very well. Just from the photo I’d say the sound is a mix of oily and tinny! :)

Nothing spectacular about the photos, just iPhone. Thought someone here might find it interesting.
