I made my own ring light rig using a 16 inch circline bulb. The ring light works at 1-2ft and the tripod is only 2 more feet working distance. I only took up maybe 4ft of my living room. Others make huge ring lights which I want to do eventually but like you I don't have the room. http://www.foreverafterphotography.net
