Yep. The "go to first unread" command is there in every thread you have visited, regardless of if it is followed or not. Read marking is just more "detailed" in followed threads, and you get notifications, too. This is a "bug" in the design that causes confusion sometimes. The last one means "notification is off, you still follow the thread" To stop following the thread, hit the "FOLLOWED" text and click on the dialog "STOP FOLLOWING THIS THREAD". After your confirm it and page reloads, the text changes to FOLLOW THREAD and there is no checkbox at all. I'll change that for the next version so that this is clearer.
