Greetings.

This might need to be asked in the lighting/strobe section but I thought I'd ask here first. I searched and saw a few older threads on laser triggers for high speed photography. The most recent one was around 2009/2010. So I'm wondering if there are any newer ones out there. I have a sound trigger for lightning but am looking for a laser trigger for water drops, falling/moving objects.

Thanks

Can't help with laser triggers, but I find ML(only helps if you have a supported body) useful with it's focus trap/triggering tools for those types of things including lightning.

How's the sound trigger been working for you on lighting, have you ever have it miss the strike because it was to far away? Locally for me it's not uncommon for me to see the flash long before I hear anything.

thanks but that's mostly all sound triggers. The one site claims a laser trigger but requires you to get your own lasers.

The sound trigger I use has done well for lightning, but I'm not that far off, and if they are I just do I lot of bulb shots then merge them in photoshop.

I use the CameraAxe. It has a bunch of add on triggers for the system including light/laser, sound, projectile and water drop systems.

I've seen that one before in other threads. So once you get the Camer Axe, then you have to get the lazer, flash board and any extra cables correct?

I'm wondering if anyone has used this one which seems a lot simpler

Thanks for the recommendation on the camera Axe though

I just got the Nero trigger, but have not yet had time to try it with laser. Works with that, sound, lightning, a DIY input etc. I plan to use it for popping balloons and with laser for water drops, but it'll be a while before I actually get to it unfortunately. It's a neat well made unit from what I can tell. Got mine at Adorama.

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things
