Has anyone else had this issue? If not, I guess this will serve as a warning to others.

I have the M and the Canon lens adapter. I was just trying the M with the adapter and my canon 55-250 STM, mostly because I wanted to see how ridiculous it looked with it! lol... It seemed to be working fine, but every once in a while when I zoomed all the way in or out I would get an error on screen (can't remember what it said exactly) but it basically said that there was no connection to the lens. It only happens when I zoom too fast and the barrel would come to an abrupt stop due to it reaching its end. My guess is that the contacts on this lens are cheaper and don't hold as well as the metal contacts on the higher end lenses thus the jar of the lens being twisted knock it loose. I do not have this issue with my Sigma 17-50 2.8 which has the metal contacts. I took the lens off and reattached it and it fixed the issue.

Thanks for reading!

Here's a pic of it with the 55-250 stm and the canon ef/efs adapter! lol

Heya,

Nope, I've used my EOS-M with every lens I have, no issues, ever. Primes, zoom, 600mm telephotos, even with 2.0x TC's inline too. Using the Fotodiox adapter, not even the Canon one.

There's been no long standing issues with the M handling lenses either. So looks like you may just have an issue with your adapter honestly.

Very best,

I was hoping you would respond! I know you have always had good info on all of the other M posts!

Yea...I was hoping it was an adapter issue. Right now, it's not a big deal. I mostly just use it with the 22mm that it came with anyway. I got it for its small size. It's nice to be able to use it with other lenses every once in a while tho.

In my limited experience with Lenses on the adapter I've not had an issue either.

Heya,

You've not had issues with the lens, nor your M + 22, so the issues only happens with a specific lens when adapted. Try another adapter. The white box Canon one is pretty much as cheap as the third party alternatives at this point. You may just have a slightly defective adapter. I doubt it's the M or the lens, as those would have shown up previously as a problem. Leaves the adapter as the main culprit.

Very best,

Very best,

I agree. I have a buddy that manage's a local camera shop. I'll probably go there and try a different adapter to see if I have the same issue. If not, then I'll just get a new adapter. Hopefully I can get him to just replace it, not sure what their warranty is on the adapter and I have no idea where the paperwork is! That will at least help me diagnose the issue.

So its looking like the adapter is fine. The 55-250 stm has a little bit of a wiggle at the base when i attach it to the adapter. Its the only lens I have that wiggles at all on the adapter and the only one that gives an error when wiggled. It looks like it just loses connection with the adapter contacts.

Heres a pic of the error

Never seen Error 60 before. Here's all that I can find about it, not much help unfortunately.
