I have been trying to figure out if I am having focusing issues. I tried to MF adjust and got a +12 for my 70-200 f/2.8 II. Here are 2 sample shots. The first picture I intentionally focused on the tip of the nose, and for the 3rd shot, I focused on the cat's right eye. The 2nd and 4th shots are just close to 100% crops of shots 1 and 3. These shots are handheld, but when I was trying to MFA, it would seem like 1 out of every 5 or 6 shots would be off slightly, even though I was using a tripod. Or is it sharpness issues I am dealing with and not focus? Each shot was at f/2.8 1/250 ISO 100 with off camera flash bouncing off wall to camera right

I think it looks good. I've had the same problem - so many complaints on these fora that one begins to think that all 7D2s have bad focus. They don't. A few people can make a lot of noise and a few bad cameras make everyone nervous. And that AF system does take a while to learn if you haven't used it before. Just go make some photographs and see how it works.

100% agree. Especially the "few bad cameras" part. They exist, and the people who received them were unfortunate and unlucky. But I think that if the OPs were one of the bad 'uns then it would be pretty obvious, and the photos wouldn't look as good as they seem.
