I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I got the camera from B&H but I live in Nicaragua now and took a chance to have it sent to my sister who lives in CT and she brought it to me on a visit last week.
I've had an AE1 many years ago then a 30D then a 7D and now a 7D mark II. The 30d was a better camera than the 7D but it got stolen in Costa Rica so I got the7D. It was pretty much a disappointment and I believe that others will agree about ISO and image quality. The 30D was better for me and the glass I had. All glass was replaced after the theft with addition 2 except for the 24-105 which could use some improvement but it's my walk around and I deal with it's idiosyncratic behavior.
However, being somewhat seasoned as a photographer and been through a few Canon cameras with issues, the 7D mark II I got is really a better camera that I have ever had.
I took note of all the issues that others mentioned and complained about and I was reluctant to put out the $1799 of the first offering and to get it brought here knowing to get it fixed would take a flight to the USA and back would cost would the close to the price of a 1dx!
Well, I got the camera that was advertised and I have been through all the testing and lens calibration that I can think of and I got a good one.
Sorry about the guys that have had problems. That can really be a pain.

You aren't lucky. You are typical. There is a thread with spectacular photos. The 7D Mark II is a great camera with more possible settings than many of us have ever seen. Enjoy your new camera.

A guy has a camera that works and you want photos? Are you saying that none of the 7D Mk II work?

Mine works - in spite of the threads here. I've posted several images. Here are a couple. Nothing wrong with most of the 7D2s. With how in touch with each other we are today, a few bad ones looks like they're all bad. They're not.

... you do know that "pics or it didn't happen" is a saying on the internet? He's just asking the guy to share some good shots he's taken. Isn't that one of the major points of this forum?

So far mine is perfect. I am just struggling a little learning some new menu layout differences in between it and the 7Dc. I am getting there. Did a Basketball game last night. Preformed great.

Yes, of course we all know that........but the way Gerry used the saying doesn't really fit with what the OP said. As a saying on the internet, it is typically used in response to someone who has shared an unusual or exceptional scenario. For instance, someone on the internet says something like, "Yesterday I saw a mountain lion jump out of the brush and attack a deer!" Then someone responds with, "pics or it didn't happen".

In this case, the OP said his sister brought him a 7D2 and it works as it should. Nothing remarkable or unusual about that whatsoever. It is not the type of statement for which "pics or it didn't happen" is a normal, or appropriate, response. When I read the post by Gerry, I had the same reaction that Larry did (in post #4).

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

The FBI would call this...":-D"... a clue that Gerry was kidding around.

Chill out guys, I was joking to encourage a relatively new member of the forum to post some photos. I'd be interested to see what Nicaragua looks like:-D, never been there.

Sorry folks, I guess I saw this as Tom Reichner did. Sometimes it's difficult to tell if someone is kidding or not.

2 things that don't transmit well in written communications are humor and sarcasm.

The :-D should have given it away.

Definitely apples and oranges.

7D Mark II

I haven't had the 7D Mark II for more than a week. I am more comfortable shooting above 400 ISO. The other cameras I had, 400 was the limit for too much noise.
I am still in the mode of test shots so pictures of Nicaragua will show up in the future. I do know something after 8 or more years of Canon digital and I put the 7D Mark II above the other cameras I have had from Canon.
These are my first impressions of a new camera, I'm not trying to prove anything or or convince the ones that call BS. This is just my impression of my new camera and how much I appreciate the differences of the other cameras I have had.
I see that I can't upload more than two so see next for 7D Mark II but it's just a photo in my garden, Apples and oranges!
