Just purchased a used 300 2.8 II lens and need to know what would be the best shoulder strap for it. It will be attached to a 1DX so the total weight is heavy.

I love my BlackRapid straps. I have the RS-7 as a single strap and the Yeti as a dual strap. These handle the weight of the 300 II very well. I do have arca-swiss plates on most of my gear, so I got arca-swiss clamps to put on the straps. Works great for me.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

When I bought my used ver 1 lens I asked the same question & the most common answer was The Canon Wide Strap

It's strong enough for the job BUT I really wanted something at least 1 foot longer.

Peak design and upstrap are two that I know of (sure there are more) that have straps with Vectran attachments rated for several hundred pounds. Shouldn't be a problem for the 300 2.8. Peak Design's biggest strap is 2 inches wide. Kind of like a seat belt and one side is anti-slip for shoulder carry. It might do the trick.

Which is why I use the strap that camer with my MkI. No other strap is long enough. With a short strap it's too difficult to swing the lens into position when it's hanging by my side.
