Just bought a MacBook pro after mine was stollen last summer and now I need to pick up a copy of lightroom 5. Do any of you know of any deals that might come with a purchase of Lightroom ? For example I've seen B&H give out gift cards with a purchase.

Thanks

I would keep my eye on the B&S forums and maybe Craigslist. Lots of places were bundling LR5 with camera purchases over the holidays. I grabbed a refurb Nikon 1 from Buydig w/LR5 a while back for $150 total. Only reason I bought it was because I was about to purchase LR5 and figured I might as well get a camera for $50 more. Bound to be plenty of people in the opposite situation, looking to get flip the software instead.

You may want to wait as Lightroom 6 is expected to be released this year. It's been about two years since Lr5 was released.

Unfortunately I don't know if an upgrade will work for me, when I bought LR4 I installed it on both my Mac and my PC, doesn't lightroom only allow you to install it on two devices? Therefore I can't just install my LR4 on the new Mac and upgrade to 5, or am I totally off base?

Thanks everyone.

I have Lightroom running on 3 different PCs. I had 4 with an upgrade to 5, you should be able to install on your new computer you just need the serial for both 4 and your upgrade. Hope that helps otherwise you can PM me. I have a sealed one that I ended up not needing. Good Luck.

You should call Adobe and explain what happened. They'll probably let you activate it on another machine. But of course this is Adobe we're talking about.

Thanks everyone.

Keep an eye out over at buydig.com (Beach Camera). I got a printer bundled with LR5 for $59. Turned around and sold the printer for $35. Can't be that price for a brand new version of LR!

My old copy of LR4 is installing as I type this, if everything checks out then I should be good to go until I decide to update to LR5 or 6, thanks for the insight everyone!
