In my waning years, I am gravitating toward studio and macro work. I have considered going to a MF body
but am to heavily vested in Canon gear. Should that thing come to fruition, what would be it's benefits for us macro guys? -?

I can't tell what you're referring to, but I'm guessing there's a rumor about a medium format Canon camera? If so I'm not excited, at least not for shooting macro. I go after a lot of active subjects, and I like the "in your face" compositions that I can get with a crop factor camera (no need to crop in post). A medium format image would just make for a smaller looking subject in the frame unless I'm willing to crop pixels out to make it look larger -and at that point why not just shoot with a crop factor camera...
