I'm moving into video now, and looking for studio-useful LED lighting that won't necessarily break my bank--basically, something like a 50-100 watt unit for less than $1000USD.
I've been looking at reviews on various panel lights, but I'm more interest in the point-source LEDs that would work better in softboxes and with umbrellas. But according to reviews, every one of those seems to be plagued with loud fans...a bane for video. Even the larger panel styles have loud fans.
Is anyone actually using anything worthwhile? Or is the fan issue overblown...so to speak?
