Here's one of the views from bakersfield overlooking miles and miles of oilfields. Tell me what you think.

Very good sky. And there is structural coherence between the shape blocks of the clouds and the patterns of those roads.

Not quite like I remember them, but I lived in the area MANY moons ago. I think the town we lived in was called Oildale. We had extended family that lived in Bakersfield, so we were always going around the area to see family members. But that was in the late 70's.

Nice shot, but I've probably shoot a quarter ton of film on oil fields, & that image doesn't say "oil fields" to me. ; )
Got any more?

You can't really tell but the oilfields start way off in the distance. And they go for a LONG way haha

"haha" yourself! Maybe a better title would be "Landscape of an obscure subject"? Haha.

Sky is really purple. Horizon looks to be a little crooked. I would crop it a little tighter on the top and on the left.

Get rid of the watermark. They look tacky and no one is going to steal your image. If they wanted to, that's a 30 second clone job.

I like the framing and distance, myself. I can tell the field extends a very long way away. I think the distance and composition lend a unique perspective. I've seen oil fields in Texas and Oklahoma while on family road trips and it's so flat in most of those areas that the only way I can think of to get a view from above is by helicopter or plane or maybe one of those cherry picker trucks. Maybe come back to this spot with a longer lens. Im viewing this on my iPad, so it is a little hard to tell what the brown area is without zooming or reading your description. This area has gotten a lot of rain so maybe it will stay green for at least the rest of this year.
