Some shots of White Tailed and Stellers Sea Eagles from south Hokkaido. All taken with the new 7D MK2 and 500 f4 Mk2 plus 1.4X teleconverter, handheld.
Incidentally these pics look like crap on Firefox but fine on Chrome, don't know what is going on there (maybe something to do with how firefox handles resolution, it seems to upscale them and they look blurry?)
These are not the tame ones in eastern Hokkaido, these ones are usually difficult to approach. However at this time of year for a short window they feed near an easily accessible bridge and 700mm is about the right focal length.IMAGE LINK: http://www.hakodatebirding.com …rs-Sea-Eagles/i-gkznqVg/A
A lot of posts suggesting AF problems with the 7D MK2 but I'm reasonably happy with mine. Reading other folk complaining about theirs makes me a bit nervous though...............IMAGE LINK: http://www.hakodatebirding.com …rey-1/Raptors/i-C2BTLHT/A
These were with the bare 500.IMAGE LINK: http://www.hakodatebirding.com …rs-Sea-Eagles/i-rB5vDcJ/A
