Those who don't like the many pixels can always get the 5D Mark IV, which is supposed to come out in August and have about 24 MP. Only a rumor so far, but so are the 5DS and 5DS R.
I cannot wait. I am getting older, and my gray hair is receding.

When you are younger, you can afford to wait. My 6D is a good Camera and when the 6DII comes out, I'll buy that, why? Because I want to and there is a whole lot less of road in front of me than behind me ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

The AA filter in an anti aliasing filter, without it the sensor can generate an interference pattern when photographing repeating patterns that appear in cloth or tiles and it appears like a oil on water coloured overlay called moire. To get around this camera manufacturers put a filter in the blurs the image before it hits the sensor (who wants sharp pictures anyway). After photogs bitched and moaned about it they started taking/ leaving it off, this is canons chance to remove it so we can moan about how bad the moire is. It means that fine detail will be better represented but regular patterns could cause a problem so its a camera for people who produce large prints, without regular repeating patterns who carry their gear some distance (no vertical grip) and dont need video, high iso or high frame rates... mostly landscape photographers ![]() BearSummer I'm not sure I've ever used 6400 on my MkII. 3200 once in a while. I'm into landscape and/or portrait/weddings. Never even done video with it. Might be a candidate for a new prime body. I wonder what the MkIV specs will be.

smythie I wasn't even trying More info | Feb 05, 2015 16:26 | #28 Well from what I've gleaned the Mk4 will have a similar pixel count to the Mk3. It is the 5Ds and 5DsR bodies which will have much higher pixel counts
