I do not know, if this thread is still alive, but I would like to share my own experience with portable storage I used for three weeks travel in China. My backpack was full of lenses, cables, chargers, tripod and so on ... I wanted my bag to be as light as possible, keeping in mind walking all day long and China is not flat country. I was not going to take laptop in my bag - too heavy, but desperately needed a lot of memory space. I mean a LOT! Raw and video files. So, I bought Sanho HyperDrive COLORSPACE UDMA2 Backup Storage Device: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …lSearch=yes&sts=pi&ipp=48
. Then I bought 1TB compatible hard drive. Put HD in the HyperDrive - it was easy to do. By using this device I did not have any limitations on how many shots to take and how long video to shoot. I could not believe to myself how good it worked out for me. Hole day I was using CF cards (two/three of them, depending on size). At the end of the day I uploaded CF cards to the storage and same cards were ready for the next day shooting. After I got back home, I uploaded all files into my regular storage on computer and additional portable HDs. I simply love this HyperDrive for portability, ease to use and lots of additional features it has. I greatly recommend it as very portable and light storage.
