Great choice of background for those subjects.

Interesting to see the saffron as I'm on the hunt for a saffron flower for a flavor cue on a new packaging project. Will most likely use stock as it's the wrong time of year (which is the story of my food propping life!).
And in the spirit of the thread, just playing around the other day with a few things that were lying around the studio including a dead bee that was in the window frame.

This probably isn't the most appropriate place to post these but I hadn't noticed any "show us your kitchen" type threads so here goes. I'll gladly remove this post if anyone feels it's out of place here...

The other day, I got my new Catskill Craftsmen butcher block cart. I've wanted something like this for my kitchen for a long time now. It's very well made and has two leaves that extend the workspace to 20" x 40". When not extended, the overall work area is 20" x 20". This makes the cart very useful and can be rolled out of the way quickly in my smallish kitchen.

With the leaves down, the cart also makes a good sturdy platform to help stabilize a tripod and camera if I want to video whatever happens to be cooking in a skillet or pot.

This is the view of the skillet from the a6300 using the FE 24-70 f4 lens at 70mm.

No one has pointed out a different thread for me to post these to so here's another...

My new sharpener, the Chef's Choice Trizor 15XV.

Here's a before and after comparison of my J. A. Henckels Chef knife edge using my new sharpener. For some reason, after I took the before shot, I could never get the lighting the same. I think these two shots at least show the improvement made at the blade edge after the sharpening.

The new sharpener uses diamond embedded wheels to sharpen and so far, I'm very impressed by the results.

Gene, this thread is a fine place for your shots of kitchen equipment. itsallart recently started one where the shots would be appropriate as well.

Thanks for the heads-up. Good to know there's thread for kitchen wares. :-)

I believe it is the same company that makes the car. :-) I've had a larger pepper mill for years but was never really satisfied with it because it was so inconsistent with the grind. I really like the Peugeot because I can adjust the coarseness using the dial on the bottom of the grinder, not by adjusting the tightness of the nut on top.

Not Tellicherry but I do have some on order.

That's interesting. Where did you get that pepper mill from, Gene. I would love a link. Thanks.
