I have a 580EX11 a 430EX and a Minolta Program 3500xi flash. I want to use a 3 flash setup for portraits. Would I be able to use the Minolta with the Canon's and if so, what do I need to make it work?

I think I still have a Vivitar which may be a better option?

Dont Minolta flashes have a weird non-standard hotshoe ?

At minimum you will need an adapter and a set of triggers, and use it in manual mode

Unless it has a "magic eye" mode, where it syncs with another flash unit, by firing when it sees a flash.

Yes, you are right it does have a weird hotshoe connector. I think the Vivitar might be a better option if I can find it.
