Info about where we would be shooting? Is it inside or outside?

I'm for it!!!

I'm in ... what better way to do something I enjoy and help others.
This will be interesting, I figure with just Kristy' 2 ab 800 and my 2 ab800 , 2 backgrounds we can do 4 shooting stations. One light for main and reflector for fill.
For the corporate headshots I've done 30 people (approximately 5 shots each) in 2 hours and that includes downtime (they showed up in groups with 5-10 minutes between groups - go figure). Lighting and such should be no problem - extension cords well that's something else.

Plus Geoff has 2 AB400's... so maybe we can set up 2 more stations... or have 3 stations with great fill light... :) ANd Hatch has some stuff.. maybe we could set up a strobist situation....?

I have 2 muslins that would work nicely.. one it kind of a mottled tan, and the other is a mottled, brown, blue, tan, etc... Both would be great for a family portrait...

Do we even need to Vote?? Let's vote for fun!! Come one and visit my linky... I've never done a poll before! :)

I'm in as long as it doesn't conflict with a previously scheduled event I have on that weekend. I won't be there to shoot, but I'll be there to learn, assist, etc. if it works in my schedule. At this point I'm just waiting for a time frame so I know if I can make it.

The one light set-up will be good for small families, if there are large families then we might need both ab400's (or two lights) at that station in order to light everyone evenly.
We'll need more information about the event to plan what to bring, those without lighting equipment shouldn't worry. I was thinking, two shooters at each station one shooter one assistant. Then the shooteer and assistant can switch roles from time to time so everyone gets to shoot.

Come! :) It will be a wonderful learning experience and no matter how many people we have, we definitely can take turns shooting for experience and practice. :)

I hope you can make it for a little while.. I'm guessing it will be early, so I bet you can make your afternoon/even event with not problems.. (keeping fingers crossed)

Good thinking Steve! We'll figure out all the particulars soon enough.. Once we find out who is all coming, I'm sure we'll have a place for everyone... never can have too many hands helping out... This will be a really neat experience. :)

Depending on the time and location I might be able to make it. I will be at a bike run in Flag so I'm thinking probably not, (Hung over from friday, trip to phx, then back to flag, will miss most of day events, evening events are better :)~)but we will see, it is for a good cause. Think this would be a Great learning experience.

Really good points Geoff.... We are so quick to do some good in the world that sometimes we fail to confirm the validity of somethings... I haven't found a website yet, and have not gotten a response from my e-mail yet either.

I don't want to get stuck in the middle of a debate... and you raise some good
questions about who will be expected to pay for prints, etc.... We don't have details or specifics abou any of this.

There actually are a couple of organizations that connect photographers to families of terminally ill children and still births, etc..... Here's a couple of links..... http://www.nilmdts.com/ (external link) ........ and ....... http://www.acpcg.org/index.htm (external link) Maybe they have done the legwork to make sure the charities they represent are legitimate... I don't know.

I just wanted to acknolwedge Geoff's statement, and realize he has some good points to bring forward, that we may want to think about, or get answers for before we get all excited and crazy.
