Hi--- I fully respect your desire to not participate and appreciate your consideration. I originally posted follow up details but deleted after discovering the dialogue that ensued earlier today. I apologise for not having had the chance to post any earlier.... busy, busy schedule and no internet access at work. At any rate I did want to thank you all for your interest and hope that there are no hard feelings. Out of respect for the families of HopeKids and in the (hopefully unlikely) event that one of the families or friends of families could potentially be a POTN reader, I would respectfully ask that no further debate go on regarding personal feelings on this organization. I probably made an error in posting the request and I do apologize if I broke protocol in any way. That was never my intention. I simply saw a need and knew that many of you were semi-pro or full-time photogs with great skills. As I say, I apologize if anyone was offended.

Respectfully,

Barb

Wow I cant believe how fast you guys trashed a charitable org???? Most of you that met me at the seminar I'm sure realized I'm not at church every sunday, but christian thieving zelots in 2 website clicks? From the pdf looks like they put a lot of kids together with a lot of celebs, which is a good thing. But as this is not my field of expertise, I guess the signs are all there and we shouldn't get involved as a group..........ok jello shots it is?

John was kind enough to pose for a few of use the other night. We had a mini practice lighting session. I think these shots turned out pretty decent. This was the first time in a studio setting for me. So much to learn!!! We had a blast and John was a good sport. Thank you Steve and Kristy for the session. You guys know your stuff!!!

Hatch

4 light set up
1 AB 800 as the main with a soft box
1 AB 800 as a hair light
1 AB 800 placed behind the camera for fill with an umbrella
1 Ab 800 naked right behind his head to help create the rim light.
All in fun and practice....

Hatch, Steve, and Kristy
Very nice work!!! I like the first one, and as Ryan said very nice angles on the last one.

Many thanks all. Steve and Kristy deserve the credit here... they were the key to the lighting success. I just fired the camera at him. :)

Thanks again,
Hatch

We went back last night for a poolside session and got these..... HE was such a fun person to work with.. We all had a great time.. Poolside shots were taken using Hatch's Norman Strobe... portable and wearing a batter pack.. completely trial and error... I had fun Steve and Hatch! :)

Kristy,
I'm getting the dreaded red x even after refreshing.

Thanks Kristy!!! We had a great time, however I'm still paying for it. Rock hopping is a skill I haven't used since the early 90's.

I can see them now. Thanks

I like the second one. Not to sure about the hand thru the hair thing though.

In the third shot his eyes look fake. Most likely because I'm not a fan of selective coloring.

I'm not sure about the first one. Once again, because of my dislike of selective coloring.

All three images are well lit and the fill light is great.

I wanted the hand through the hair thing.. it's a calendar pose...

Yeah.. I'm not sure about the coloring on the other two either but I was trying
to do something different... They are just desaturated, but on the last one I didn't desaturate his eyes..

We all have different tastes I guess and a variety is nice. When I turned them completely B&W they lost some detail in the muscle, so I thought if I left a little color in them that would help.... maybe I need to revisit them.... The back of his arm is too hot in the first shot too, and that bothers me some... and the third shot could have been posed better to make his abs look not so crunched up... but it was practice so... lessons learned. :)
