If you intend to watch, I hope you enjoy our FOX broadcast of the 50th running of the Daytona 500:
(Shot this on Friday from the top of the main grandstand as close to dead center as I could get. Unfortunately, there is, of course, a TV camera occupying the prime spot. Many more pics to come once I get home and get a little post processing time.)

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum: Walk-in Aviary

I am inquiring if anyone has any experience with photography of birds in this setting. It would appear to provide any opportunity to see many different species.
Thank-you

I'm not sure what kind of experience your looking for but I shoot birds all the time. Not saying I'm good at it but you can see some of my bird shots on my web page www.NatureCallsPhotography.net (external link) if you want. If you are looking for someone to talk to and share info about shooting birds I'm up for that.

Guerry

Thanks for Looking, Guerry :)

Thank-you Guerry:
The museum and its surroundings present a wonderful opportunity for photographs, based on my prior visits.
I have never photographed birds in the aviary, and I was inquiring if anyone had any experience in this setting.

Somewhat off topic, but I figured I'd give locals a chance on it. I'm selling my 70-200 f/4 (non-IS) to a good home if anyone is interested =) Would rather have it go locally then have to deal with the various psychopaths scattered about the Internet, hehe.

(If this type of post isnt allowed/wanted, just lemme know and ill drop it like a hot potato!)

I haven't been there in a long time and don't tend to shoot captive birds, but I'll add my $0.02 anyway. Lighting is usually not optimal, so you might need a support of some kind if it's allowed in there. A little fill flash might also help.

Just in case anyone was wondering...
Tomas, Joe, Rob, Curt and I had a great time yesterday in Picacho. I haven't had a chance to process my pics yet, but Rob did (and he got some good ones!).
Here is a link to Rob's flickr set: http://www.flickr.com …s/sets/72157603928432226/ (external link). Leave him a comment and encourage him to drop by here where the fun people hang out!
I hope to leave work early and maybe get to look at some of my pics.

So is it comletely deserted there? If so, lots of stuff just left behind. No "NO TRESPASSING" signs to be found?

Could probably go to $480 for a local since there wouldn't be any Paypal/shipping costs involved.

Not really. There's an abandoned place here and there, but the town does have people living in and around it.

Oh, and Tammie - it's with a K-urt.

I'll post up my stuff when I get to it. I've got 2 shoots tonight after work, all day Wednesday, then all weekend (Matsuri / Renaissance / Studio).
