I finally got a chance to upload my photos from the Picacho day trip. BTW, they're straight from the camera - dust bunnies on the sensor and all. This is actually my first time sharing any photos online - scary but fun at the same time. :D You can see the photos here:

Feel free to leave some feedback! Here's one of my favorites from the ones I took - I can't wait to see what Tammie, Joe, and Kurt share!

Just in case anyone was wondering...
Tomas, Joe, Rob, Curt and I had a great time yesterday in Picacho. I haven't had a chance to process my pics yet, but Rob did (and he got some good ones!).
Here is a link to Rob's flickr set: http://www.flickr.com …s/sets/72157603928432226/ (external link). Leave him a comment and encourage him to drop by here where the fun people hang out!
I hope to leave work early and maybe get to look at some of my pics.

Leave work early? Now you're making me feel guilty for taking off the day for the holiday. ;)

So is it comletely deserted there? If so, lots of stuff just left behind. No "NO TRESPASSING" signs to be found?

Actually, there were a few "no trespassing" signs but I really don't know if anyone cared - with the exception of one curious guy who owned a big chunk of land we were walking around. Luckily though, he was cool about it (and possibly looking for a money making opportunity). :D

Yeah, Tammie and I stumbled upon it by complete accident when we were taking photos of the "For Sale" sign. I think you were actually inside the building taking photos or else I would've told you about it. BTW, looks like he has his own gallery on Flickr:

Thank-you Guerry:
The museum and its surroundings present a wonderful opportunity for photographs, based on my prior visits.
I have never photographed birds in the aviary, and I was inquiring if anyone had any experience in this setting.

Yes, I have tried shooting in there, but with the many people constantly thronging through, it can be a challenge. As Tammie says, lighting is an issue. The best shots are at the nests in this setting.

Yeah, I decided not to go to this one... There is a "Bellies and Babies" seminar coming here in June that I'd love to attend... Sandy Puc is teaching it... I love her style with newborns, and since that's totally my thing, it would be great for me to go and learn something.

She's also the person who started the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" thing... I've been watching that for a while and thinking about it... weird, I know... but after watching her little sales pitch at the seminar on Thursday, I'm closer to thinking it is something I could do... Does that make me a freak?

Other than that.... Frank Doorhoof is coming here again in June as well... He will be teaching on location stuff and is looking for a location in the Los Angeles area... he said he's trying to find a mansion or something cool to hold the session at... So that would be awesome.. I love his work too! :)

That's it from this place for now.... :) HAPPY DAY!!

Home in one piece from Daytona despite a 5+ hour layover in Charlotte due to US Air's inability to keep to a schedule...*SIGH*

Here's a pic from the same day as the surfers but with a little bit more post processing time and effort:
