yay yay! lots of people from arizona!! Hopefully everyone's enjoying the great weather lately. I'm in the Peoria area if anyone ever has anything going on on the west side.

Hey lady...! :) Nice to see another girl around this place... it reeks of testerosterone... LOL!! So now that makes 3 of the female presence around here. YAY!

I'm in Peoria also... so what do you like to shoot most often? Got a gallery anywhere? ANd what are you shooting with, etc.... blah, blah, blah... ;)

I posted this shot on the travel and landscape board too. This is from Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas.

Drew

Nice! Wish I was hanging around over there right about now... Great shot! :)

Here's a pic from the same day as the surfers but with a little bit more post processing time and effort:

Like it! :) Nice perspective and the movement of the waves is always a treat! :)

Anyone interested in a group effort on this eclipse event? I'm thinking somewhere like north end of Cave Creek road. Not too long of a trip for a work night, but certainly much darker skies than downtown Phoenix. Or even better, DC Ranch. Even if the eclipse shoot is destroyed by cloud cover, DC Ranch, I think, makes a nice photo target on its own.

Me? I'd use the long lens shade to be sure and catch every inch...
Actually, the eclipse starts at Moonrise so if you shoot early, you wont' get as much snow down the barrel. Just don't tilt up much...

:p

haha, thanks. but right now there's so much cloud cover that I don't think I will be able to see it tonight :-( I hope someone else will get something good.

Also, Welcome to Kamrie. nice of you to come here and say hello. I'm some times in the west valley myself in nwphx, but the rest of the time I'm in flag trying to finish my last semester :-) so yeah, westside photogs! woohoo :-P

Hey! I seem to be drawn to nature shots... trees/lakes/etc lol. just carry my camera with me everywhere... whenever an opportunity strikes... i whip it out. Ummm.... no gallery, never thought about it. I've been fiddling around on the forum, an y'all seem to have one. I may scrounge up some of my favorites when i have some time [also in school = no time!]

I have a Canon SD600. My little Bitty :) lol

Well, we've got solid overcast in Chandler right now. Looks like I'm waiting until 2010 for another good eclipse...

nice jay. I got some really windy conditions with lots of snow so I can barely see 100yards from my window.

Nice shots Drew and Jay! Welcome Kamrie!

I got a glimpse of the eclipse from here just West of Piestewa Peak on my way to the gym this evening...clouds were rolling over it. Not the best view, but was pretty cool :).

Do we have a place/time in mind for meeting at the Matsuri fest? I am certainly looking forward to it!

Well, I realized tonight that I totally suck at moon shots...but I got lucky with the storm that rolled in to the NW valley...fun! That's our house in the middle, my car on the left.

I'm also interested in the Matsuri fest...since I'll be living in Japan for the next 3 years.

Whoa!! That's an awesome photo!! That's one thing that I've never, ever successfully captured is a decent lighting shot. Gotta work on that come the Monsoon season.

Thought I was hearing things but we've definately got thunder outside down here in SW Chandler (1040 Hrs...)
