I see it opens at 5am, which is perfect for me as I am an early riser and need to get to work by 9 anyways. So, what areas of the park should I go for some nice sunrise shots? Can I walk the entire park in the 2/3 hours I have? Sadly, I only have my kit lens and 50, but I figure I can get some nice shots, I'll bring my tripod too. Any suggestions would be great! (how far is this from the Hermosa Inn where I am staying?) Started my obsession on March 15, 2007!

I am on a quest (such a bug nerd) this summer to photograph dragonflies. Can you all point me in the right direction? I live in the West Valley... do you know of any rivers/ponds I can shoot at? Drving distance isn't an issue... Thanks, Hatch I usually see the dragonflies out at the lake. like depending on how far west you are you might be able to get to lake pleasant fairly quick. azphotos wrote in post #3295114 In all seriousness - I have had numerous surgical procedures on my knees - if you can avoid surgery do so. It is never as good as it was prior to surgery. Tammie - Pleased to learn Russ will be joing us .yeah i can't avoid surgery. I already tried and went to a summer camp but came back after i hurt myself...in the first day I was there...so my summer is now my recuperating time. hopefully i'll be able to use my camera some this summer. (how far is this from the Hermosa Inn where I am staying?) At the Hermosa Inn (if its the one I'm thinking about in Paradise Valley) your just under 10 miles or so from Papago Park. Sunrise is at about 5:20 am. I haven't been in the park itself for years so I don't know how long it takes to walk about. Adam

Let us know when your having surgery. Also ask the doc if we can all come in to the OR with are cams and macro lenses. What fun that would be. Adam
