Hi.
I recently got a EOS R. The photo was taken with that.

I was still shooting with the 5D classic till now. 14 years old... it was time.

It still shot amazing photos but it was time...

Just opened this thread after an hour on the trainer. Would love some delicious, calorie-laden, lemon blueberry pound cake (?).

I WAS feeling like Mexican food for lunch today. It ain't that anymore. Lunch just got more expensive.
Captured deliciously!

^^ Getting yummier and yummier. The SO or whoever is sharing the meal will be a happy camper.

Made bagels for the first time. Just out of the oven. Luckily everyone is sleeping so I could manage a few shots. Here is a quick grab shot with my new Pixel 3XL. Not bad for little sensor and fake bokeh mode is not bad at all. Feel sorry for telling one the engineers the mode wasn't as good as it should be.

Here are the bagel shots:

Sponge. I did add some of my sourdough discard to it.

Bagels from over night rest in the fridge, before going into the boiling bath and baking in the oven.

Fresh from the oven:

I ate two with some nice pour over coffee. Wish I had some home made smoked salmon.

My Japanese white sandwich bread from the day before:

From the oven:

Wish I learned to make this earlier. Outside grocery store breads are total junk. One of the best white breads for peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I can't eat peanut butter now (allergies) but enjoyed with butter and some jam, toasted or otherwise. Here is the link I am using, in case someone is interested.

Bobby, may I ask what your light set-up is? I'm at an in between spot after selling the 5D-IV and Fuji has been a consideration. Working out how to run/control the strobes is of interest if you are using a mono light or speedlight set-up.

It is funny. I do lot of portrait, model shoots and tried my hands on using strobe for food but it was hard. First unlike my studio, I was using dining room table and kids have their stuff right there, so not much space. And without the proper gear, it was hard for me.

So yesterday morning, I just use the natural light from my small door to the patio area. It has been raining in CA for a month so everyday is cloudy. That gave a nice light, like a really huge strip box. I just put a black foam core on the floor and shot over head using a tripod. That's why XT1 as it is smaller & lighter. Now this showed me that my medium SB that I was using was quite small. I will try adding another diffusion layer. Strobe wise I was using AD200 but will try my AD600. Speedlites should also work just harder to spread light with them (in the modifier).

I use a single canon 580 EXII speed light off camera shot through a scrim for all my food photography. I can move the light in all directions behind the scrim to change the look of the light. Works really well. I will also add black foamcore boards to block light where I don't want it to hit.

I've begun using my LED light panel more for photographing food at home. I use either the diffuser found in those round 5-in-1 reflectors or doubled up tracing paper mounted in a window screen frame.

The flash controller on my camera is for my Nissin flashes and not for the light panel.

Here is a similar setup using the tracing paper in a frame. This was for an image of some Himalayan pink salt.
