too bad I haven't been home in a few years haha.

Hey, I currently live in Knoxville and spent most of my life in Kingsport and Johnson City. Just joined the forum because I need a place to talk about photo related stuff.

No clue how I've missed this thread until now.

Just a reminder... if you own a photography business and are used to filing your business tax in June/July you might need to file a transitional business tax return. It is due today, April 15.

Are there any good groups that do photo meets around the Knoxville area? I've got a couple local photography friends but I'd like to meet more contacts and make more friends. I'm open to shooting just about anything but my strong points are definitely live music/concerts, nightlife, and modeling gigs.

I'm also very interested in learning more about the business side of photography. One of the things I'm having the hardest time with is taking the best routes to getting paid for my work.

I am in SF, but from Knoxville. Ill be heading to Sevierville in June to shoot my sisters wedding. Any good local businesses to rent glass from? Or should I stick to borrowedlenses.com

Stick to borrowlenses. About the only place close to Sevierville that rents lenses is f/32 in Knoxville. They don't have much (especially in the way of Canon things). Here's what they have: http://f32photo.com/files/f32 rental equipment list latest.pdf (external link)

They actually have the lens I am looking to rent. I might call them. Since I will be in Knoxvegas visiting friends and family before the wedding.

Just posting that there is a monthly photo group in Clarksville now.. Well, they are taking January off, so the next event will be in Feb.

The group invites all creatives from MUAs, Fashion stylists, and PS wizards to models, photographers, and scouts.

And Post #300 is mine.
