First off, my default computer operating system is Linux so no one else may have seen the following:

If I put the card in a card reader to transfer files to the computer the date on the files correspond to the time and date the shots were taken. If I transfer the files by plugging in the camera via usb the files, at least after they are transferred have a time stamp which is adjusted by the time offset from UTC.

In other words using New York as the time zone exif creation time is 13:25 but the file time on the computer is 9:25. Using the time to organize shots from different cameras becomes confusing. I've picked the only time zone option for UTC -3 but have turned off the auto daylight savings time just in case.

Has anyone else noticed this on other operating systems?

Rod

My files have two time stamps. One is from the camera's internal clock, adjusted according to the time zone and DST setting. The other is UTC, coming directly from the GPS. I don't have any 7D Mark II, but this is true for the files from my 7D and 1DX.
