Thank you all for your submissions, this challenge has now ended.

Alas, it's been a long and challenging day, so I'm going to name the winner and post C&C tomorrow.

Thank you again.

First some words from my subjective viewpoint:

Mark: You will have to show us your next frame. There is negative space in your composition, but on an artistic level (once again, subjective...) seems lacking.

lovemyram4X4: Good, multiple examples here in your composition: a silhouetted skater against a cloudy background, the same cloudy background sharing the frame with the dark concrete. Furthermore as an added attraction, notice if you will the shape of the cloudy background as it meets the skater and the concrete bowl. It like the sky is pushing both the skater and the concrete down...gravity. Well done.

itsallart: A simple representation of negative space. I think a bit more DOF would have helped the image a little more.

Tom: A bird in isolation walks, eagerly, towards the unknown. Where is it going? Why? Nice representation.

airfrogusmc: Shapes, curves, lines, shades and texture all form a cohesive yet abstract form of negative space. Here, the negative is more subtle; it simply becomes negative.

Stina: Subtle and simple example of Negative space. The emptiness left of the composition leads one to the simple cluster of roses towards the bottom right...beauty can and does exist in the darkness.

EnglishBob: Twisted logic of an unseen entity, keeping the viewer, both visually and physically, from the lush greenery of what lay beyond. The negative and smallest portion of the composition, distorting the larger more positive aspect of the composition...

Benitoite: More repeating shapes, lines and angles than negative space. However, one could view this as both negative and positive coexisting and ever entwined within the frame...within nature...within one's being. The yin and the yang.

Kb: A lone dog looks deeply into the unknown bleakness of the background. The road the dog is on leads towards the same bleakness. The dog is the positive, the bleak background is the negative. The dog does not know what lays in the distance, but the unknown calls.

Matt: Simple, somewhat graphical representation. This composition would have worked better for me if you had framed the cup directly instead of shooting downward at the cup...

Phil: A symbol of freedom and/or the American way dominates the composition. Soaring into the frame and peering to our right. What is beyond the frame that the eagles sees? Is it hunting evildoers? Protecting it's family? Demonstrating power simply by being present? Or, one could "politicize" the composition and see the dimly lit (a stop underexposed in my eyes...) predator as an example of Western politics, greed and religion hunting what it believes is "lesser than" by spreading and forcing it's own belief system upon everyone...

How do all of you "read" the submissions of this challenger? Post back with your interpretations and C&C.

And now the "Selectees:"

Honorable Mention: Stina

Runner-Up: airfrogusmc

Winner: lovemyram4x4

Thank you all again for your participation.
