So, All in all I have around $4500 for gear. I still wanna snag another strobe for $600 and a monitor for $500.
That being said, I shoot chest up studio portraits, full body composites, skateboarding, Metal/hardcore concerts (typically I am against the stage or on it. Not far away)
I like primes more than zooms because I feel as if they make me less lazy.
In studio I normally shoot at F8+ unless its natural lighting in which can I would shoot as open as possible.
I do like shooting natural lighting outdoors or wherever so wider open apertures are quite appealing to me but not really needed.
My current options:
Canon 70-200mm Mk II Or some kind of 85mm prime<-- studio/headshots/portraits
Canon 24-70mm Mk II <-- Everything else
or
Canon 70-200mm Mk II <-- studio etc
Canon or Sigma Art series 35mm <-- everything else
Fun old manual lenses and Tilt shifts to goof off with and make some fun images
Monitor, strobe
The answer seems common sense to me but in the next year or so I plan on getting heavily into wedding photography and I don't wanna go in unprepared.
I will probably be a secondary photographer so I figured once I get paid for enough gigs I can snag a 24-70 if I opt the other route, same with 70-200mm even tho I hear its a superb portrait camera.
/edit thought it was in my sig.
Canon 6D
Studio space is rather small for now, about 14x12. I only use it for headshots and goofing off.
