My daughter, Melanie. We were out having rita's yesterday evening - came home & this was a spur of the moment thing. Had fun!I know the 2nd one is soft, darn the rita's - I liked the pose. Comments welcome!

They are nice, however I think they are a bit cool. I would warm them up a bit. The second one seems a bit soft, her face doesn't seem to be in focus.

I like the poses! I would agree with the comment to add some warming, and slightly brighten the second image.

Looks to me like the focus caught her left shoulder instead of her eyes. Did you use a single focus point or a grid? The grid will almost always catch the closest point which would be the shoulder.

Hi, I used a single focus point. I not seeing what you see - her left shoulder (background) is obviously not the focal point. If you mean left shoulder towards the viewer, I still don't see that as sharp. Her eyes are where I put the focus. :-):-)

I think the comment about the focus hitting the shoulder is in regard to the second image that you described as soft. That looks to be the case to me. But good job on the first one. Is this with a single speedlite?

Hi Matt, now I feel like an idiot lol!! Yes, the second image was too soft & point-n-shoot-n is most probably right. It was a single speedlite, I had found an excellent link posted here on the forum regarding use of single speedlights & how to get really good portraits from just one light. Thank you for your nice comment on the first image - I was pleased with how it turned out.:-D:-D:-D

Not a fan of the ankle crop in the second shot.
