Don't know who else would appreciate this but I got this set up today for 50 bucks

Also comes with a leather and plastic case.
Nice deal imo
Thoughts?

Anyone know of ways to test this?

Also when I look through the view finder its all kinda black.

I am hoping to find someone with knowledge or a site that will allow me to take this apart fully and clean it up.

Its mainly for collecting but I really wanna shoot film photography to improve myself as a photographer.

I'll check that out!

Sadly this did not come with it. Just everything else and the extra case and stuff

No manual required for this baby. If the shutter works along with the film advance your good
to go. Use your new digital camera as a light meter dial in the settings and away you go.

Older SLRs had darkish screens; they figured out how to make them brighter as time went by. However, it looks like your Praktina uses manual diaphragm control; you may have a second aperture control ring on the lens that, once you've set the actual aperture, will let you open the lens up wide and then before shooting, just twist to stop it down to the pre-set aperture.

I had one of those when I grew up in Poland; old East German manufacturer. As Carl Zeiss was, located in Dresden. This was a good camera back then and it still is. I also had a Praktica and Pentacon, I think all by the same manufacturer. Leica was not far away from them :) Enjoy

Its been so long ago that I completely forgot about pre-set lenses. Had a few in my time as they
were much more affordable than a automatic lens back then. First SLR I owned with auto lens was
a Miranda DR the things we take for granted today.

Ancient history there!

My parents had an old off-brand 200/f3.5 telephoto they used on their Minolta SR1 back in the 60s; it had the second aperture ring so you could stop it down to the shooting aperture after composing and focusing wide open. Sometimes they forgot to do so - I used to wonder why one out of about every three or four slides they shot with that lens was vastly overexposed. And since their normal exposure was probably around f11 (they faithfully shot everything at 1/125th which I assume was what was pictured in the owner's manual!) it was a REALLY bad overexposure!

Nikon D80, D7000, D750, N90S, FA, FM2, F, F2, 1J3... and lenses.
Rolleiflex 2.8C, Baby Rolleiflex, Ricoh Ricohmatic 44, etc.
