Restored Kenworth

A few shots from a concourse condition fully restored Kenworth. Looks & sounds magnificent.

Very nice looking KW ! What yr is it ? Are the tires on it original size or were larger tires added . I've always loved old KWs' especially with tall stacks .

It's a 1972 version, was still working up to 2007 and then got retired and was going to be a sacrificial truck to repair/rebuild another vehicle.

It has been restored to original condition (with one exception). The greater majority of parts being still available. The straight stack was re-instated. The engine/turbo & transmission have been reconditioned. Wheels/tires are original sizes.

The exception to the original condition is the radio, where a "retro radio" was fitted but looks like the original.

It is estimated that it has traveled around 10 million miles.....on its 3rd engine.

A fairly strong paper history (provenance) of the truck exists including the invoice from NZ Rail to deliver it to its first owner and the sign-off accepting "accessories" like the jack, wheel brace & tool kit!

It looks like they did a nice job on it.

Gorgeous ... I would love to hear those horns blast.
