Canon SX50 Setup Questions

Hi folks,

I am going through the setup settings on my new-to-me SX50 HS.

In camera mode, there are a number of settings that are greyed out. Such as High ISO NR, Flash Control, Digital Zoom, Blink Detection and Date Stamp. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening? I have been spent the evening trying to figure this out and could really use some help.

They're only available in some shooting modes. There's a table starting on p. 268 of the SX50 manual that tells you which functions are available in which modes. If you don't have the manual/CD, you can download it from the Canon USA website.

I had already downloaded the manual, but hadn't made it all the way through yet. When you mentioned the table on page 268 and then I saw it, I remember browsing that part before but had forgot about it. Lot to absorb in the manual and remember. Unfortunately, my memory isn't what it used to be. <SIGH>
