You know, it's pretty easy to embed smaller photos straight from flickr, no matter the original uploaded file size.

Agreed - you'll get far more views that way. I enjoy looking at car shots but don't enjoy bouncing off to different websites all the time; there's plenty of good stuff to be seen here on POTN :-D

I would try to get that car to someplace more scenic.

With the backgrounds as they are, these are more "Hey look at this cool car" as opposed to "Hey, look at this fine photograph of a cool car".

I'd love to spend an afternoon shooting that thing...

Just shut up and smile...

IF i ever get a chance to shoot in another area i will . W. Tex is nothing but oilfield stuff . Sick of it yet it's everywhere . WHen spring comes i'd like to get him and car to a very nice place . He's married and two kids . Makes you wonder why he has this car ? He's building a 71 MACH I , 429cid exact same colors and giving to his father-in-law for christmas next year . Hope i get a chance for that one too !

WOW! Your neighbor has a pretty slick looking car - thanks for sharing here. Just a suggestion, it appears on my monitor (calibrated) that you've got the contrast and saturation jacked up a bit. The red is nearly glowing and some interesting detail is lost in the shadows, especially that of the wheels.

Thanks for the comments. I worked these in Niks Color Eflex Pro . Yes it slightly does boost the saturations . This was shot early afternoon full bright sunlight so some had a washed out look til Niks invaded . But if you saw the car under same conditions you would not see much difference when cleaned and in bright sunlight ;) .

Do you know who Jack Roush is ? The ROUSH Mustang line was started because of him being a great racer himself . WHen a signature like this adds more value to a car like this the signature is well accepted among car lovers that buy for value and collections . If you ever watch the Meccum Car auctions , sometimes you'll see a car with a signature of someone that has connections to the car . It will addd value in the long run . You can always use hairspray to remove if it doesn't suit your taste and value . ;) , BTW thanks for the comment tho !

Quite interesting - I suspected that was the case the backstory helps out. I'm assuming the signature was added with something like a Sharpie Marker - do you do anything to protect it from wear or cleaning? Being subjected to extreme heat, cold and bright light as well as light cleaning could take a toll over time. Artists will sometimes spray an art fixative to pen and ink work to help preserve it. I was wondering if similar action was common with "signed" cars.

I'll have to ask my neighbor what he does to protect it . Dash is a brushed alluminum metal . Jack Roush came to the Ford house back in a few months ago and anyone that had a ROUSH vehicle could show up and he signed them all . I didn't know but there is a special Ford Pickup that is also a ROUSH line . Watched him sign that on the news . One guy brought his 1967 Shelby mustang in and Jack signed that also even tho it was not a ROUSH line .
