I'm thinking that people do not realize that they are not bidding on an actual camera. They are going to be a little shocked when they send money and get a thank you note in return.

"Condition: New other (see details): A new, unused item "

duh!

If it works I forecast a sudden exponential growth in this camera line...

I think it violates Ebay no item listing policy. Hopefully it will get removed before the listing ends

I think if the seller would include something in the auction say a quarter or a personalized print from the new camera it might be a justifiable sale.

I wonder if that would work for a Leica Monochrom. :)

There are 20 bids on it so I believe the possibility of one or more of them don't know what they are bidding on. It will probably get squashed when there's a complaint. :)

Looking at the guys feedback rating I find it hard to believe that he would put his account in jeopardy like this. Although, he's been selling lots of HO train stuff. Looks like he should have enough money with those sales.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

For the fun of it I searched a local dealer by me for a Leica Monchrom setup which includes the body (obviously), a 35mm f/2, 50mm f/1.0, and a 90mm f/2. My total 'fundraiser' would have to net $14,528 + 7% sales tax for a grand total of $15,545... I don't think I'd be able to get 10% of that. :)

Without reading the fine prints, I thought that the guy is selling a new 70D to raise fund.

And the bids went from 20 to 12. :)

Might not be such a great idea after all. I predict this auction will be gone in a few hours.

CameraMan:
You were right.
Item no more available.
EBay's excuse for premature end of auction:
"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available. "

So, this fellow completed one fund raising and started another one? Should start raising fund for something else, such as 7D II, not 70D again :)

If he makes money, good for him. People need to read items before bidding.

The first listing was a little vague. This one is pretty clear.
