How does a photographer, that isn't a professional, but that has a few good pics, make some money with them?
Thank you!

Selling on micro stock sites is probably the easiest way.

...the simple answer is to find people with money who are happy to give that money to you in exchange for prints or the licence to use digital copies. There aren't any shortcuts. You can try to sell them on stock sites, but don't expect much luck with sales unless you actually treat it as a business. You can get sympathy landscape sales from friends and families which might equal a few dollars. But if you aren't prepared to put any effort in, you can't expect much return. To make money in photography you need to treat it like a business: identify who your customers are and figure out ways to sell to them.

There are some websites such as Picfair, photo4me or Photobox Pro galleries - where you just need to up load your images and set your price - but then the difficulty is getting buyers to find your pics on these sites and make purchases. These type of sites will save you the headache arranging for printing and handling the sales directly etc. Another method I have seen used (but not tried myself so cannot say how well it works) is to make a large collection of prints and then attend events such as horse fares, local fetes, countryside and agricultural shows etc.

But I do think as others have already said to make real money you need to put a lot of time and commitment into running a business with good marketing and sales strategies. Using the websites I have suggested above is really a case of waiting and hoping someone will stumble across the images you want to sell.

The difficulty I see is that if this is a hobby done in your spare time and you wish to turn it into a business to make money you need to decide if the risk of giving up regular paid work is worth it to pursue a professional career/business in photography.

I sell on alamy. It's a lot of work to upload and keyword but worth it when you get sales.

I sell on Fine Art America, I do art shows which ties back to FAA (advertising) business cards..I sell in a retail store which again, ties back to FAA since all of my prints have a sticker on them with my contact/website info. If you want to sell, you have to be willing to spend money, and do your own marketing, none of the online sites are going to market you...:-)

EOS 6d, 7dMKII, Tokina 11-16, Tokina 16-28, Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8L, Mixed Speedlites and other stuff.

When it ceases to be fun, it will be time to walk away
