Tell me what you think. I know the power line and pole on the left is the most distracting but I don't have access to photoshop to clone it out so deal with it lol. But I took this with my 70d and sigma 10-20mm. 13 seconds, ISO 100, f/11 and at 10mm

It's a cool scene. Lots of interesting subjects in the frame and a good choice of shutter speed to give a sense of motion without creating a surreal look. IMO, slightly more distracting than the wires are the shadows in the water, and especially the shadow (of a tree?) in the bottom left corner.

Do you have lightroom? If so, applying the lens correction to reduce the distortion may be a worthwhile edit.

I knew somebody would say that. Haha. Ya that is a shadow and to the right of theat shadow you can see my shadow. As far as the distortion I did use the lightroom lens correction. I think because since it's such a wide lens it has trouble correcting ALL the distortion? I could be wrong.

I'm just here to help validate your thoughts  You can do some simple cloning in Lightroom 5 (cant remember if that was available in previous version)

Sometimes I have to play around with the different correction choices, meaning vertical vs horizontal vs auto vs full. Additionally, under Lens Correction, there is a "Manual" tab where you can further adjust the distortion.

I really hate cloning in lightroom. Ive never been very good at it. And I haven't really worked that far into lens correction before. I didn't know it could do all that. Thanks man.

Yeah, the shadows are a little annoying and the pole/lines, but I like the rest of the view. I like the building reflection and the blurred water. I'm jealous of your weather too! Good first try.

The title is 10 stop newbie, so I'm going to assume you were using a filter here? Which one?

Thanks for sharing!

Great color, reflections (minus lower left person and tree?) and sense of motion but I feel there is too much water in the scene.

The amount of smooth dark water draws my eyes away from the colored portion in the back.

Thanks guys. Ya i was actually hoping for crappier weather haha a little more clouds to get a bit of cloud blur and a possible longer exposure, but instead we were handed an 80 degree day today lol

I'm using a b+w nd1000 ten stop filter for my sigma. I like it a lot so far. Very little color cast if any.

Haha, I get that, the clouds and all, but at this point, in Washington... I'd trade away all our clouds and rain for some of those blue skies!

Also, I have the same filter, it's a lot of fun to play with. Try getting out early or late with it and you'll get significantly longer times!
