Hey folks!

After upgrading my 500D (Rebel T1i) to a 70D early last year, I finally got the chance to take it for a spin around the local zoo. I don't like going in the Summer because it's way too busy and complicated with all the camera gear. Luckily, it's still sunny in the Winter months here, and Spanish people rarely venture out when it's anything below 10 degrees! So for me, it's the perfect time to head to the zoo. I pretty much had the place to myself. Here are some of the results:

I seem to have developed a minor obsession for photographing snakes!!! Either way, I'm happy with the upgrade so far!

Cheers, James

Those are impressive snake shots; I assume through glass? I especially like the green pit vipers.

Thanks very much! haha, yes, the captions things would work quite well on a few of them. For some reason, when I was reviewing the gorilla photo, I had a picture in my mind that he's just been hit in the place that no man ever wants to be hit ... I've seen that face pulled a few times. Needed a few minutes to compose myself after getting that image in my mind :)

And yes, with the exception of the bears and the squirrel, these shots were all taken through glass. I had to use my body to block reflections for some of them ... thankfully it was empty that day or I would have looked like a crazy person!!

Like all of thee in this set, but do agree, the snake shots are beautiful.

Did you use the 70-300mm for these?
